CONVERSATIONS WITH IBM PARTNER KIP TWITCHELL: MEASURING VALUE WITH EVI AND REA

William McCarthy developed Resources-Events-Agents (REA), an event-based accounting system designed to measure input, transformations, and outputs of business processes. (See Lecture 5 on Cost Accounting in the series Advancing Business Architecture with EVI). Kip Twitchell work with Richard Roth at PWC Consulting to develop the first commercial application of REA. IBM acquired PWC Consulting in 2002 and the event-based system now called Scalable Architecture for Financial Reporting (SARF). His team advanced REA to include Locations, making it REAL. Kip’s experience is unlike any other and explains how REA in four videos.
